Padmaavat is a 2018 Indian epic period drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Loosely based on the epic poem Padmavat by Malik Muhammad Jayasi, it stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, a Rajput queen known for her beauty, wife of Maharawal Ratan Singh, played by Shahid Kapoor. Sultan Alauddin Khilji, played by Ranveer Singh, hears of her beauty and attacks her kingdom to claim her. Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Raza Murad, and Anupriya Goenka featured in supporting roles.[1][6]
With a production budget of ₹2.15 billion (US$32 million), Padmaavat is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made.[7][8][9] Initially scheduled for release on 1 December 2017, Padmavat faced numerous controversies. Amid violent protests, its release was indefinitely delayed. In December, the Central Board of Film Certification approved the film with few changes, which includes the addition of multiple disclaimers and a change in title.[10][11] Padmaavat was rescheduled for release on 25 January 2018 in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D formats, making it the first Indian film to be released in IMAX 3D.[12]
Padmaavat received mixed reviews. Critics praised the visuals, the cinematography and Singh's portrayal of Khilji, but criticised its storyline, execution, length and adherence to regressive patriarchal mores.[13] Critics also disliked the portrayal of Khilji as a stereotypical evil Muslim king and Ratan Singh as the righteous Hindu king.[14][15][16][17][18][19][20] Despite not being released in some states of India, it grossed over ₹5.85 billion (US$87 million) at the box office, becoming a commercial success and one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
Padmaavat is the third collaboration between Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The trio had worked before in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (2013) and Bajirao Mastani (2015), while it is Kapoor's first film with the three.[44] Their co-star from the previous films, Priyanka Chopra was also in consideration to play the title role.[45]
Shahrukh Khan was offered the part but felt it was not "meaty" enough and declined; failure to agree on his fee may have been a factor.[46] Shahid Kapoor was finally cast to play Ratan Singh with an assurance of a good enough part and a hefty fee.[47] For his role, Kapoor undertook rigorous training under trainer Samir Jaura and followed a strict diet for 40 days. He also learnt sword fighting and the basics of Mardani khel, a weapon-based martial art, and admitted that it had been one of the most physically and emotionally challenging roles of his career.[48]
Ranveer Singh portrays the antagonist of the film, Alauddin Khilji, the first negative role of his career.[49] Director Bhansali had given him books to read delving into the psyche of dark rulers of history such as Adolf Hitler, asserting that he had to completely forget who he was before he could play Khilji.[50] Singh trained under Mustafa Ahmed to get into proper shape for the role. The actor worked out twice a day for six days a week.[51] Playing Khilji so affected Singh's personality and behaviour that he had to see a psychiatrist to return to normal.[52]

n the year 2015, it was confirmed by director duo Abbas-Mustan that a third installment in the Race franchise was being planned with Saif Ali Khan in lead role.[4][5] In the year 2016 it was reported that producer Ramesh Taurani had approached Salman Khan for Race 3 but Salman refused to do the film and asked Ramesh to make some changes in the script.[6][7] This report was confirmed to be true by Salman Khan himself at the Trailer launch event of the film on 15 May 2018.[8][9] In August 2017, it was reported that Salman Khan had agreed to be a part of Race 3 on the condition that choreographer turned director Remo D'Souza would be the one to direct the film.[10][11] In August 2017 it was reported that Saif Ali Khan had decided not to be a part of the film as he was opposed to the idea of him playing a parallel lead to Salman Khan.[12] After media reports surfaced about Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandez and Deepika Padukone being considered for the female lead opposite Salman Khan, it was confirmed during August 2017 that Jacqueline Fernandez had been finalized for the role.[13][14][15][16] To prepare for the action sequences that she had to do in the film, Jacqueline underwent extensive training in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).[17]
Filming
The shooting of the film began on 9 November 2017 at the Mehboob Studios in Mumbai.[18][19][20] The filming of Race 3 moved to Bangkok in Thailand for its second schedule where they filmed a song and an action sequence, which was choreographed by Anal Arasu, at the Floating Market and Rose Garden as well as the jungles of Kanchanaburi Province.[21][22] After finishing the shoot in Thailand, the production team reached Abu Dhabi for its next schedule. The shooting schedule in Abu Dhabi lasted for 35 days where filming was done at Emirates Palace, Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi, The St Regis Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Emirates Steel and the Liwa Desert.[23][24] The action sequences in Abu Dhabi were choreographed by Tom Struthers, who has previously worked on movies like Inception, The Dark Knight and Dunkirk.[23][25][26] For its next schedule the film unit moved to Kashmir and later on to Ladakh where Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez filmed a romantic song.[27][28][29] During the shooting, Salman Khan was convicted in the Blackbuck poaching case[30] on 5 April 2018 by a Jodhpur Sessions Court, as a result of which the remaining patchwork of the film was completed in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan instead of Abu Dhabi because the film was running behind its schedule and Jaisalmer had a landscape similar to that of Abu Dhabi

Dear Zindagi (lit. Dear Life) is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Gauri Shinde. It was produced by Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, and Shinde under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma Productions, and Hope Productions respectively. The film features Alia Bhatt in the lead role, with Shah Rukh Khan, Kunal Kapoor and Ali Zafar in supporting roles. The plot centres on a budding cinematographer named Kaira, who is discontented with her life and meets Dr. Jehangir, a free-spirited psychologist who helps her to gain a new perspective on her life.
Development of the film began in 2015, when Shinde signed Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan for a film to be made under her banner. Principal photography took place in Goa and Mumbai, in the period from 21 January to 20 May 2016. The film features a score composed by Amit Trivedi and lyrics written mostly by Kausar Munir. Dear Zindagi released on 23 November 2016 in North America, two days before its worldwide release on 25 November 2016, to commercial success and generally positive reviews. It received a number of accolades at Bollywood award organisations, with particular praise for Bhatt's and Khan's performances, direction, and film score.
The soundtrack was released by Sony Music India. The full album was released on 15 November 2016.[25] Audio Jukebox was released on 21 November 2016 on YouTube.
The song "Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le"; written by Gulzar and was originally composed by Ilaiyaraaja and sung by Suresh Wadkar for 1983 film Sadma; has been recreated for the film. While, lyrics for the other songs in the album are written by Kausar Munir.

Anne Marie (Kate Bosworth), Eden (Michelle Rodriguez) and Lena (Sanoe Lake) are best friends. They raised Anne Marie's 14-year-old sister, Penny (Mika Boorem), ever since their mother took off to Las Vegas with a boyfriend who was uncomfortable with the idea of having the two girls come along. While Penny is at school, Anne Marie, Eden and Lena work as maids at a large resort hotel, but more importantly, they are surfers. Anne Marie rises every morning before dawn to train for her surfing comeback, and was once considered a rising star in women's surfing and competed as a youth, but an extreme wipeout and near-drowning incident temporarily halted her career, and left her with deep-seated fears. Her friends, especially Eden, have encouraged her to try it again.
Anne Marie has been invited to join in an upcoming surf competition at the famed North Shore surf spot, Pipeline. She hopes to gain the attention of sponsors and get herself and her friends out of the near-poverty they are living in. As the Pipeline competition gets closer, she struggles to keep Penny under control and deal with her own personal issues.
At work, Anne Marie meets and catches the eye of Matt Tollman (Matthew Davis), a National Football League quarterback in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl (it is hinted that he plays for the Minnesota Vikings). Matt is there with several of his rowdy teammates and instantly becomes attracted to the surfer. Through a series of "chance" encounters, she agrees to teach him how to surf for $150 per hour, and brings Lena, Eden and Penny along for the ride. When she goes to Matt's hotel room to get the money, they kiss as a call comes and Anne suspects that it is his wife but he promises it is his niece. Later they sleep together. Her acceptance of a non-local begins to cause friction between her and many of the young men in her surfing social circle. Anne Marie faces more problems when she and Eden argue about Anne Marie's lack of dedication to training for the Pipeline contest due to the sudden appearance of Matt. She also has to hear demeaning comments from several of the other football players' wives and girlfriends staying at the hotel about how she is undergoing the "Matt Tollman makeover" while attending a luau at the resort.
Anne Marie confronts Matt about their situation and soon resolves to step up her game, as she finally commits herself to the Pipeline Masters. On the day of Pipeline, Anne Marie wipes out during her first heat, but advances to the next heat after narrowly beating pro surfer Kate Skarratt. She is shaken, but Matt tells her a story about his first game as an NFL quarterback and helps her regain her wavering confidence. Determined, but still afraid, Anne Marie returns to the water. Competing in the same heat is Keala Kennelly, one of the first professional female surfers, playing herself. While Keala surfs the first few sets of waves without wipe-outs, Anne Marie still has inhibitions about riding one, visions of another near-drowning incident holding her back. Keala finishes her turn, then paddles out and takes Anne Marie under her wing and encourages her to take the best wave of the day, on which Anne Marie manages to score perfectly. Although she does not advance to the next heat, she has regained her lost confidence, but also attracted the notice of sponsors, one of which includes an offer to join the Billabong women's surf team.

It stars Varun Dhawan, Banita Sandhu, and Gitanjali Rao.[4] Both Sandhu and Rao debuted as actors with this film.[5][6] Written by Juhi Chaturvedi and shot by Avik Mukhopadhyay, the film depicts the life of a hotel-management intern (Dhawan) who takes care of his fellow intern (Sandhu) after she meets an accident and his unconditional, unconventional caring for her.[7]
Initially scheduled to release on 1 June 2018, the film was released on 13 April 2018,[8][9] grossing over ₹54 crore worldwide.[3] Upon its release, the filmmakers were accused of plagiarising Aarti - The Unknown Love Story, a Marathi film directed by Sarika Mene. Screenwriters Association reviewed the case and found some similarities between the two films. However, it cleared October of plagiarism charges as the real-life events that likely inspired both the films were not protected by copyright laws.
Danish "Dan" Walia (Varun Dhawan) is a hotel management trainee working for an internship course in a hotel in Delhi. His co-worker is Shiuli Iyer (Banita Sandhu). Dan is a man of careless attitude who does not like his job due to the low-class errands and has strained relations with most of his co-workers and seniors, contrasting with Shiuli who is calmer and good at her job. On New Year's Eve Shiuli and the other hotel interns party at the top of the terrace, but Dan is nowhere to be seen. Little realizing that the cliff is slippery, Shiuli falls from the terrace as she happens to ask of his whereabouts.
Critically injured, Shiuli is admitted to the hospital, and goes into a comatose state. When Dan learns about Shiuli's accident, he visits her in the hospital. Empathizing with her condition he begins visiting her regularly and develops an emotional attachment towards her when he comes to know that her last three words before her fall were "Where is Dan?". Due to his frequent visits to the hospital, his internship at the hotel suffers and he is fired. As months pass by, Shiuli slowly starts to recover. Dan gets another job at a different hotel in Kullu where he becomes a manager, however, unable to take Shiuli out of his mind, he returns to her. When Shiuli is discharged and taken home, Dan continues taking care of her.
