    Dilan 1990 bercerita tentang Milea (Vanesha Prescilla) yang bertemu dengan Dilan (Iqbaal Ramadhan) disebuah SMA di Bandung. Itu adalah tahun 1990, pada saat Milea pindah dari Jakarta ke Bandung. Perkenalan yang tak biasa membawa Milea mengenal keunikan dari Dilan lebih jauh. Dilan yang pintar, baik hati dan romantis. Cara Dilan mendekati Milea tidak sama dengan teman-teman lelaki lain, bahkan Beni, pacar Milea di Jakarta.
    Bahkan cara berbicara Dilan yang terdengar kaku, lambat laun justru membuat Milea kerap merindukannya jika sehari saja ia tak mendengar suara itu.
    Perjalanan hubungan mereka tak selalu mulus. Beni (Brandon Salim), Anhar (Giulio Perangkan), Kang Adi (Refal Hadi) mewarnai perjalanan itu. Dan Dilan, dengan caranya sendiri, selalu bisa membuat Milea percaya ia bisa tiba di tujuan dengan selamat. Tujuan dari perjalanan ini, Perjalanan mereka berdua.Katanya, dunia SMA adalah dunia paling indah. Dunia Milea dan Dilan satu tingkat lebih indah daripada itu.

    Mengisahkan cerita tentang cinta pertama yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan cinta monyet. Biasanya dirasakan pada masa-masa remaja atau masa sekklah.Namhn hal iti tidak pernah dirasakan oleh Galih (Refal Hady) yang hanya seorang pelajar SMS yang teladan, pendiam dan memiliki pribadi introvert (tertutup) yang hidup dalam bayang-bayang almarhum ayah nya dan tuntutan dari seorang ibu yang harus berjuang dalam menghidupi anak-anaknya sebagai seorang singel mother (Ayu Diah Pasha).
   Sedangkan dalam peran Ratna (Sheryl Sheinafia) adalah seorang siswi baru saja pindahan dari Jakarta yang bersekolah di SMS tempat Galih bersekolah. Ratna adalah seorang siswi pintar dan sangat berbakat namun ia sendiri tidak tahu posisis dalam menjalani kehidupannya. Ia hidup tanya tujuan yang pasti, selalu hidup dalam mengejar hal-hal yang instan layaknya seorang anak milenial saat ini karena memang Ratna juga seorang anak dari ayah yang kaya raya tetapi Ratna dan Ayahnya sudah lama ditinggalkan oleh ibunya saat Ratna masih kecil demi mengejar cinta ibunya kepada laki-laki lain.
    Hingga disuatu sore Galih dan Ratna bertemu dilapangan belakang sekolah. Ratna sangat tertarik dengan walkman yang sedang dipakai oleh Galih menginat Galih adalah murid yang tertutup dan pendiam Galih hanya cuak dan tidak mengacuhkan Ratna, Galih hanya sibuk dengan Maxtipe pemberian ayahnya. Cerita yang berawal pada sebuah pertemuan sederhana inilah mulai tumbuh benih-benih rasa saling sukapun mulai tumbuh dari keduanya.
    Inilah kisah cinta pertama yang membawa Galih dan Ratna ke tahap baru dalam kehidupan percintaan mereka sebuah tahap pendewasaan dimana mereka memiliki rasa tanggung jawab, tuntuan dan pasision yang saling berperang dan akhirnya kembali berdamai. Dan dalam cinta pertama inilah yang akan selalu menjadi sebuah kenangan yang tak akan pernah mereka lupakan ternyata apa yang mereka bayangkan kadang tak seindah dengan kenyataan.Suatu awal pertemuan yang indah manis penuh warna tidak selalu berakhir dengan keindahan dimana keduanya harus mulai menjalani hidup masing-masin g dan mulai membiasa kan diri melanjutkan dan meneruskan kehidupan mareka.
